Reputed to be the oldest hotel in England, one time host to Mary Queen of Scots. Perfectly located opposite the Pavilion Gardens (23 acres of parkland) & Opera House. Daniel Defo, writing in 1727 and staying at the hotel, said, ’This is indeed a very special place.’ Which of course it is, even to this day.
