The Highlands Inn lies in Boscobel Road, on the Western fringe of Burton’s St. Leonards. Within easy reach of the seafront, and the various entertainments of the famous resorts of Hastings and St. Leonards. During the latter part of the 18th century, a celebrated London architect- builder realised the need for a seaside watering place, specially designed to deal with the health and pleasure of the fashionable world. His name was James Burton and he had planned and developed large parts of London, including the Regents Park area.
