York’s Middlethorpe Hall is a William iii country house, set in 20 acres of its own gardens and parkland. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the famous diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montague. After a period of neglect, Middlethorpe Hall was purchased and restored by Historic House Hotels, who also own Hartwell House, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Bodysgallen Hall, North Wales. The house is now decorated with antiques and fine pictures, carefully chosen as consistent with the period of the house.
Tariff from £95 per room per night
